Measurements of EMF exposure levels are made under static conditions. Measurements include both short-term (e.g. minutes to hours using battery-powered instruments) and long-term (e.g. years using IoT sensors) measurements.
Measurement in progress
EMF exposure levels are continuously measured over a long term by measuring instruments installed in various locations throughout Japan.

A small measuring device of about 300 g is carried close to the body to measure EMF exposure levels of daily life environments such as residence, outside of home, and class rooms in school.
An example of personal portable exposure meters used for the measurement
A measuring instrument is installed in a vehicle modified for measuring EMF exposure levels. Extensive measurements are carried out while the vehicle is moving or parked throughout Japan.
